Both my wife and I recently had 1 tooth extracted by Dr Barry Maharaj and I would like this review to be a highly recommend for the Dental Surgeon and his staff. I received a recommendation from my Dentist Dr Sheikh for a wisdom tooth and the procedure was so effortless (this coming from someone who is very afraid of any dental work) that I changed the recommendation for my wife’s extraction from the surgeon recommended by her dentist to Dr Maharaj. First on Dr Maharaj. Originally from Trinidad he has that sense of humor you only find from people from the Caribbean, which is awesome to help put you at ease for surgery. He lets you know exactly what will occur from start to finish and he is so thorough that he caught another tooth on my wife’s X-Ray that was in need for a root canal and her general dentist just confirmed ( we wish he could have done the root canal). I could go on about how good he is suffice it to say that he is skilled at getting your extraction done quickly and thoroughly with as much pain minimization as possible. Now on 2 of his very young but very capable assistants, Anushka (sp) and Parthik (sp). Both assistants work closely with the Surgeon and help put us both at ease explaining the procedures, explaining follow-up care and calling the next day to check-up and answer questions. It is amazing how good they both are given their age, but of course it’s all due to the training Dr. Maharaj gives /involved both in the procedure . We wish them both the best in their future careers. I had a wisdom tooth so no discussion on an implant. However my wife had her tooth extracted and I am hoping someone contacts her to set up an appointment to discuss whether she can have an implant (I believe there is a minimum waiting time for the mouth to heal) . The front/back office staff was very thorough. Note that no secondary insurance is taken so if like me you have a secondary policy that covers (Carrington) payments, you have to let them get involved once your primary EOB is received to get a payment to help cover your out-of-pocket. Also if you are new as we both were, in my wife’s case as she has 2 replacement knees, you need to have your general dentist determine what antibiotics is needed prior to surgery. The front office caught that this wasn’t done and ensured my wife received antibiotics and Dr Maharaj ensured she had adequate time for them to work into her system prior to extraction. I strongly recommend Dr Maharaj to new patients. Now as mentioned I am hoping my wife is eligible for an implant and we receive a follow-up for a consultation. This is the Dentist she would like to have that done.

Such a pleasant office and great staff! They put you at ease from the moment you walk in. They gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision about my tooth and the procedure was over before I even knew it had begun!!! Completely painless! Dr Pham was so thorough and actually gave his cell phone to me if there were any problems after office hours. I would HIGHLY recommend him!!

I just had a wisdom tooth extracted by Dr.Maharaj and I am extremely satisfied with the whole process. The procedure went very smoothly and Dr. Maharaj was very professional and friendly. He explained everything he was doing and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. The staff at the clinic were extremely nice and helpful as well.
