Impacted Tooth
Dental Impaction
- When permanent teeth fail to erupt into the mouth, they are said to be impacted. Your orthodontist may recommend different treatments in this scenario.
- They may recommend extracting the teeth, extracting other teeth and allowing the impacted teeth to fall into their place or exposure and bracket attachment.
- If a tooth becomes anchored in the bone and will not naturally erupt. A small window in the gums is made to facilitate eruption.
- A bracket with a chain is then bonded or glued to the tooth. Your orthodontist will use this chain to slowly pull the tooth into the correct location.
